Geoscience from the Mountains to the Sea
Join us for the 76th annual meeting of the Southeastern Section of the Geological Society of America on April 25-28, 2027 in Savannah, Georgia. The city of Savannah is situated within a dynamic coastal setting shaped by the Savannah River and coastal processes within the southeastern US. The Quaternary landscape includes tidal marshes, barrier islands, and riverine deposits of the Atlantic Coastal Plain, underlain by Miocene fossil and phosphate-rich deposits and the Eocene limestone of the Floridan aquifer system. This exciting meeting will highlight southeastern US coastal features and other proximate areas of interest in Georgia's Coastal Plain and Piedmont through a broad and diverse technical program, field trips, and short courses.
