The 2027 Meeting of the Northeastern Section of GSA will be held in historic Saratoga Springs, New York on 11-14 March. Saratoga Springs is located immediately southeast of the Mesoproterozoic Adirondack massif within early Paleozoic sedimentary rocks that represent a combination of Cambrian-Ordovician platform sediments and later foreland basin sediments associated with the Taconic orogeny. The city of Saratoga Springs is located along the high-angle McGregor fault which has facilitated the upward migration of deep mineral rich waters that give the city its name. Pleistocene glaciation also impacted the area and left behind a variety of erosional and depositional features. The meeting will be held at the Saratoga Hilton hotel which is located near several parks and museums and conveniently situated in a bustling downtown area that includes a wide variety of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance.
