A resistant layer of the Roma sandstone is exposed crossing the Rio Grande and forming a set of rapids as the underlying softer layers are eroded more quickly by the turbulent flow. Taken at the Lopeño boat launching site, 3 km down river from Falcon Dam.

Online Meeting

The local planning committee and the South-Central Section management boards have made the difficult decision to move the 2022 South-Central Section Meeting entirely online. We simply could not financially justify the in-person meeting we all were looking forward to.

The online meeting will have a diverse range of technical sessions and student mentoring opportunities, emphasizing as much interaction and communication among attendees as possible.

One result of this move is that we are able to offer the early registration rates through the regular registration period. Please help us pass the word along and plan on attending the meeting.
