Cordilleran Section Grants
Student Travel Grants
The Cordilleran Section of the Geological Society of America is pleased to offer student travel support to the
annual
Section meeting (CDGSA) as well as GSA Connects for students who are presenting their research. Individual award
amounts typically range from $300 to $700, depending on the number of students applying, funds available that
year,
and travel distance to the meeting.
Eligibility Requirements

Be a current student member of the GSA Cordilleran Section.
Not a member?
Join or Renew

Be both the first author and the presenter of the paper or poster.

Register for the meeting before submitting a travel grant application.
To ensure you are registered for the meeting, log into your GSA
profile and navigate to the “Events” section.

Submit an application through the online Travel Grant Application Form.
The form is available on the Students & ECPs page of the
Section Meeting website or
Connects website during the early registration period only.
Application Guidelines
- Applications require active GSA Section membership and the following information: your first and last name, email address, mailing address, phone number, abstract title and ID, primary and secondary authors, institution, and confirmation of whether you are presenting.
- To update your Section affiliation or to add an additional complimentary Section affiliation, please contact Customer Service at gsaservice@geosociety.org.
- Students may receive only one Section travel grant per meeting.
Application Status Notification
Student travel grant decisions will be communicated through email before the meeting registration cancellation
deadline. If your attendance depends on receiving a travel grant and you are not selected, you will be eligible
for a
full registration refund.
