A variety of mentoring opportunities for professionals and students are offered at GSA Annual and Section meetings.

Career Workshops

Career workshops help participants gain practical knowledge to begin a job search. Held as a series at Section Meetings, topics include career planning, informational interviewing, geoscience career exploration, and writing cover letters, CVs, and résumés.

Résumé Clinic

A private consultation with a geoscience professional is offered at the Annual Meeting to review résumés and discuss strategies for individuals to more successfully market themselves to potential employers.

Science Communication Internship Program

Each year GSA accepts a small number of geoscience students who are interested in science communication as a possible alternative career path to collaborate with the GSA Science Communication Fellow during the Annual Meeting.
