Salary: $121,316 (Step 01) to $157,709 (Step 10);

As a Supervisory Geologist within the Eastern Energy Resources Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
o Develops and coordinates contracts, cooperates with outside interests to develop Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADAs), Consortia documents, and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
o Collaborates with Federal and State agencies to encourage and develop outside funding resources.
o Negotiates Team Scientist Emeritus and Volunteer agreements and coordinates/assesses their activities.
o As Associate Center Director, collaborates with the Center Director in the on-going day-to-day operation of the Centers by providing scientific support to the Center Director and Administrative Officer in the planning, execution, review, supervision, and administration of the technical phases of the Centers.
o Coordinates job duties with the Center Director to ensure that an area of scientific research can be pursued within the realm of the job.

Travel Required: Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position 1-2 nights per month.

Special Requirements For This Position:
o This position requires completion of a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period, if one has not previously been completed.
o If selected for this position, you may be required to file one or more financial statements upon reporting and annually, some of which may be subject to public disclosure.
o Because this position requires travel for official business, the selectee will be required to apply for a charge card within 30 calendar days of appointment. Individuals who have delinquent account balances from a previous Government charge card will be required to satisfy their existing obligation before a new card can be issued.
o A background investigation will be required for this position. Continued employment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.
