Postdoctoral Fellowship, Earth and Environmental Science, College of William & Mary

The Environmental Science and Policy program at the College of William & Mary seeks applications for a two-year postdoctoral scholar position in Earth and Environmental Science sponsored by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The postdoctoral scholar will teach undergraduate classes and conduct research related to paleoclimatology and paleoenvironmental change. Research will involve the development of new Holocene paleoclimate datasets by applying molecular biomarker techniques to the analysis of sediment core records. This unique position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to use their skills to lead cutting-edge research projects and facilitate undergraduate student projects while receiving mentorship in professional academic development. The postdoctoral scholar will teach one upper-level seminar course per academic year and arrange an environmental speaker series in the second year. A PhD in geology, geochemistry, or a closely related discipline is required by the time of appointment.

The position offers a competitive salary, research and travel funds, and administrative support. The postdoctoral fellow will be mentored by two William & Mary faculty with teaching and research interests in paleoclimatology and organic geochemistry.
