Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in Earth Science Fellowship, American Museum Natural History

The MAT program is a fully-funded 15-month master’s program in Earth science teaching. The goal is to recruit and inspire enthusiastic, highly-qualified Earth science graduates to become teachers in high-needs middle and high schools around New York State. This residency-based program is partnered with four schools in NYC and Yonkers to ensure graduates gain real-world teaching experience. Class sizes are small, and all MAT students receive intensive mentoring from program staff and school-based mentors. All MAT Residents receive a full tuition waiver, a stipend of $30,000, free textbooks, a program laptop, and more.

The fellowship is intended for graduates with a background in Earth science and related fields (e.g., Geology, Meteorology, Oceanography, or Space Science). Current college seniors and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. We are happy to review transcripts for those with eligibility questions.

The online application is now open and is due by January 31, 2019.
