Proposal submissions are accepted twice a year. The
fall deadline is October 15 and the spring deadline is March 15. Mark
your calendar to check the main South-Central Section
page for the Call for Proposals.
The South-Central Section of the Geological Society of America sponsors a program
to offer grants of up to $500 to support individual research by undergraduate
students attending universities and colleges within the section (Arkansas, Kansas,
Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana). Each university/college may submit any number
of proposals. However, if more than one proposal is submitted from a department,
the Chair of the department must rank each proposal before it is submitted to
the South-Central Section. NOTE: Funds used to travel to professional meetings
are not eligible, nor are funds used to purchase permanent equipment.
Please send your proposals (original and three copies) to:

- Applicant's name and e-mail address, school address, class standing, and expected
date of graduation.
- Project title
- Project Supervisor
- A concise statement (no more than 100 words) of the project.
- A 23 page narrative, which discusses the significance of the research
and the methods to be used.
