GSA Bulletin
Submit an Image for the Cover
We're looking for photos, digital images, drawings, or other images, preferably in color, to use on the cover of GSA Bulletin that are vivid, captivating, and artistic.
You don't have to have an article in GSA Bulletin to submit a cover photo. Images must be of high technical quality, tell an interesting geologic story, and must not have recognizable people. Please note that any image that is used on our cover will be cropped (if necessary) to a vertical format.
For review purposes, we can accept PDFs, low-resolution electronic files, slides, prints, or color Xeroxes. If your image is chosen, we will then request a 35 mm slide, a high-resolution electronic file of at least 300 dpi, or the original digital photo. Any images submitted will be returned. There is no charge for submitting an image or for having your image published on the cover.
Please include a short caption explaining the geologic interest of the photograph. The caption must include a credit line acknowledging the photographer. Note that cover photos are not considered to be part of an article published in GSA Bulletin; if a cover image is related to an article in that issue, the only reference is in the caption for the cover.
