Thirty technical scientific sessions will generate discussions around new earth-science research at the 62nd annual meeting of The Geological Society of America’s Rocky Mountain Section, held in association with the Western South Dakota Hydrology Conference. Oral sessions and posters will cover a variety of subjects, including paleontology, geologic hazards, geological studies in National Park Service areas, the geology of shale, mining and land use effects, surface water quality, GIS and remote sensing applications in the geosciences, and research at the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Lab (DUSEL) in Lead, South Dakota.
The technical program begins at 8 a.m. on Wednesday and ends at 3:20 p.m. on Friday. Members of the media are invited to attend.
