I. INTRODUCTION The 112th Annual Meeting of the Geological Society of America will be held November 9–18, 2000, at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center (RSCC) in Reno, Nevada. Approximately 7400 geoscientists from around the world are expected to attend. Thirty-four hundred speakers will participate in over 150 technical sessions, covering recent advances in all fields of geoscience.
