A view from depth of five years of microseismicity along the San Andreas fault near Parkfield, CA. The SAFOD (San Andreas Fault Observatory at Depth) project is being carried out as part of NSF's EarthScope Program in cooperation with the U.S. Geological Survey. The trajectory of the SAFOD borehole, as well as the locations of frequently repeating SAFOD target earthquakes, are also shown. The plot was made using EarthVision by Luke Blair of the USGS.
