Sun., 22 Oct., 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Pennsylvania Convention Center
Pennsylvania has a rich brewing heritage dating back to the days when Philadelphia was the biggest seaport in the colonies. The city was home to the nation's first Porter and was the birthplace of Lager Beer in America. There were so many breweries in fact, that a neighborhood called Brewerytown emerged. This presentation focuses on how water and mineral resources, technological innovations, immigration and business acumen each played their role in the evolution of Philadelphia's brewing industry which continues to this day in making the city a world class brewing center.
Come explore the effects of geology on the brewing process! You must be 21 years of age with proper identification to participate in the beer sampling portion of this session.
