Visiting Assistant Professor, Whitman College

The Geology Department at Whitman College is searching for a three semester (1.5 year) position in Geology, with expertise in mineralogy and environmental geology, at the rank of visiting assistant professor, effective January 2019. A Ph.D. is preferred, but ABD candidates will be considered.

The successful candidate will offer Mineralogy with two lab sections and one introductory geology lab section for Environmental Geology in the Spring 2019 semester; a section of introductory Environmental Geology with one lab section in the Fall 2019 semester, and Mineralogy with one lab section and introductory Environmental Geology with one lab section in the Spring 2020 semester. Additionally, the candidate will participate in one four-day regional geology field trip for geology majors each semester and assist in supervising senior theses.
