Faculty Position, Geoenvironmental/Geological Engineering

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is searching for a faculty member with expertise in Geoenvironmental or Geological Engineering to complement faculty in Civil and Environmental Engineering and in Geological Engineering. Areas of expertise include geotechnical and geological engineering research and practice related to projects focused on sustainability and resiliency, sustainable energy and energy geotechnics, waste management and remediation, materials and resource conservation, infrastructure, and environmental policy and regulation. This is a full-time tenure-track position and is open at the Assistant Professor rank.
Applicants are expected to develop innovative and internationally recognized research programs, contribute to scholarly work in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Geological Engineering, undertake instruction in undergraduate and graduate classes, and engage in professional service. The successful candidate is expected to develop interactions with other faculty on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus including those within the College of Engineering and other colleges. Opportunities exist to collaborate with faculty in Geoscience, Soil Science, Wisconsin Energy Institute, Grainger Institute for Engineering, Center for Limnology, the Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies, and the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey. Candidates should have earned a doctorate degree in civil engineering or a closely related field by the beginning of employment. Post-doctoral experience, professional experience, and a professional engineering license are desirable, but not required.
