CNSF Fall Hill Visits

If interested in participating, please send the information required to Jack Hess, , by 23 August.
He will submit a response on behalf of GSA.

The Coalition for National Science Funding (CNSF) is again organizing Hill visits this fall focused on advocating for the National Science Foundation. The dates are 18-19 September 2007. All CNSF member organizations are encouraged to bring in scientists, educators, and engineers to participate in the event. Constituents with representation on appropriations committees will be especially valuable to participate in this event.

This event will be most successful if participating organizations carefully select members who are likely to be a good fit for the event and who are also committed to it. Last year, 12 percent of participants cancelled, many after they had been assigned to teams and appointments had already been scheduled for them. We would like to avoid such a drop out rate this year.

Information (see below) for each participant is required no later than Friday, August 24 in order to designate the interdisciplinary science teams by state or region and make the appointments. CNSF member policy staff interested in serving as a team advisor should let us know no later than August 24. Orientation materials will be made available on the CNSF website and appropriate leave behind materials for the teams to leave with the Hill offices will be developed and placed on the website.

It is the responsibility of CNSF member organization representatives to keep their participants informed and attuned to the activities of the event.

Any questions, please contact Nadine Lymn () or Anita Benjamin ().
