Exploring Geoscience with GSA in NAMIBIA!
6-23 July 2007
Join GSA as we head to Africa. Namibia, a peaceful democracy, rich in geologic heritage, is bordered on the Atlantic Ocean by the infamous Skeleton Coast. Your travels will take you east as the scenery changes from shipwrecks to the Etosha National Park home to a variety of Africa's icons of mammals and birds.
Travelling south you come across the largest sand dunes in the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert. Namibia's scenery is unparalleled and with deep discussions on the principles of earth science at work, your travels in Africa will leave you with enduring memories and teachable moments for a lifetime.
