About GeoVentures

GeoVentures are special geoscience field trip experiences created for the members and friends of the Geological Society of America. These trips provide participants with the opportunities to visit some of the most spectacular geological sites on the planet with guides who are experts in their field. Participants not only enjoy seeing some wonderful geology, but they also enjoy the fellowship and companionship of people who all share a common interest.

GeoVentures range from weekend trips (GeoClass), through week-long trips (GeoHostels) to 14 day or longer experiences (GeoTrips).

Considering the expertise and sites visited, the fees for GeoVenture experiences are not overly expense. Most trips include all lodging, meals as designated and ground transportation. Expert guides and adventure-style experiences are all included.

Some GeoVenture experiences are organized with other like-minded scientific societies so participants get a broader holistic approach to the areas they visit.

GeoVentures are organized for three distinct groups –

• Professionals, rockhounds and their friends
• School Teachers (K-12)
• Students (College+)
