Can anyone attend a GSA GeoVenture trip, or only members of GSA?
GSA GeoVentures are open to everyone — you do not need to be a member. GSA members do get a special price for most trips. In most cases it is cheaper to be become a member of GSA and get the discount than to pay the non-member participant fee. Join GSA Today!

I am not a geologist. Can I attend?
Absolutely. GeoVentures are a great way to become involved in geology. Many participants have a great interest in geology and most love to share their interest with others.

I am from overseas. Can I participate?
Absolutely. GeoVentures are open to people from around the world. International participants are very welcome. Please note that all prices are quoted in US dollars.

I am not a student or a teacher. Can I attend the trips specially designed for them?
The Teacher Trips and Student Trips have been specially designed for these groups. They involve classes and discussions on how the experience could be used in the classroom, or the level of discussion is at a level for people with no or little geoscience back ground. While it may be possible for a non-teacher or a non-student to attend one of these specialist trips, it would only be after discussions with the trip leaders.

Can I bring my children on a GeoVenture trip?
We are sorry, but these trips are designed for people over the age of 18. The only exception to this is the student trips, which may take younger students at the discretion of the trip leader. Special trips for parents, grandparents or significant others and children are being planned for the future.

I am not able to get around the field like I used to. Can I still attend?
All GeoVenture trips can cater to those with special needs. Please contact us for more information.

Do the participant fees include airfare to the destination?
In almost all cases airfare to and from the destination is NOT included in the participant’s fee. All other transport costs are usually covered. Participants are responsible for getting themselves to and from the trip starting and finishing points.
