The Maritime Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport in Mystic, Connecticut invites applications for a 1-year 2009-10 Visiting Lectureship to teach oceanography, supervise student independent research, and teach on 3 field seminars per semester (oceanographic offshore cruise and field seminars to the Pacific and Gulf coasts). Williams-Mystic is an off-campus, 20-student interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary program where students of all majors study the history, literature, policy and science of the sea. Our classrooms include our new Marine Science Center, Mystic Seaport's unparalleled maritime library, and extensive field sites in the region and the country. Position begins July 2009.
