2015 South-Central Section Meeting

Stillwater, Oklahoma  |  1920 March

Chair: Todd Halihan,

The organizing committee for the GSA South-Central Section Meeting in Stillwater, Oklahoma is now accepting proposals for technical sessions, field trips, workshops, and short courses for the 19–20 March 2015 (Thurs/Fri) meeting. Oklahoma State University has a long history of interdisciplinary work related to the energy and environmental sectors.

We are currently planning technical sessions addressing all types of energy resources and geofluids. Oklahoma is home to every major type of karst system, and so evaporite and carbonate karst sessions are also encouraged. The state further boasts a rich geologic history featuring dynamic rifts, orogens, and intracratonic structures. Accordingly, we welcome proposals for theme sessions and symposia in structural geology, tectonics, geophysics, paleontology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, geochemistry, and petrology. Field trips and workshops may be proposed for pre or post meeting.

We request that all proposals be submitted by 30 May 2014. Please submit proposals to Todd Halihan, at Oklahoma State University.
