2006 GSA Annual Meeting:
Physical and chemical data on more than 3600 minerals, including many entries with photos, are contained in this Atlas of Minerals from Queensland University of Technology. The site also includes introductions to mineralogy and vibrational spectroscopy.
NASA’s collection of earth science references corrals more than 50 glossaries for fields across diverse scientific disciplines and also lists sites that spell out acronyms and abbreviations.
A smaller collection of climate glossaries and weather tools is available from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
