GSA Special Paper 406, Temper Sands in Prehistoric Oceanian Pottery: Geotectonics, Sedimentology, Petrography, Provenance. Oceanian ceramic cultures over the past 3500 years mixed sand as temper into clay bodies during ceramic manufacture. Petrographic study of temper sands in thin section allows distinction between indigenous pottery and exotic pottery transported from elsewhere. This study documents cases of inter-island transport of ceramics over distances typically <400 km but reaching 1000+ km.

GSA Special Paper 407, Evolution of an Andean Margin: A Tectonic and Magmatic View from the Andes to the Neuquén Basin (35°–39°S lat). The objective of this volume is to examine the Cenozoic tectonic and magmatic evolution from the arc to the retroarc of a distinctive end-member of the Andean accretionary orogen between 35°S and 39°S. The book is fundamental for researchers working on tectonics and magmatism in Andean type systems as well as those involved in exploration.
