HOTRAX

The largest geologic expedition in the past 20 years to the central Arctic Ocean will take place during August and September in the "Healy-Oden TransArctic Expedition" (HOTRAX). Sponsored by NSF, the expedition will core sediments in order to establish a high resolution pan-Arctic stratigraphy and paleoclimate record. In addition, the first ever high resolution seismic survey will be made across the central Arctic in an attempt to better understand the origins of this ocean basin.
