Treatise Evolves

Effective 30 November 2008, publication of the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology series will transfer from The Geological Society of America to The Paleontological Institute of the University of Kansas. This transfer includes the distribution and sales of all current and future volumes in the Treatise series.

This should in no way be construed as a lack of commitment on the part of GSA to the paleontological community and/or to the Treatise.  Indeed, participants in this joint decision agree that consolidating operations to the Paleontological Institute is the best way to ensure a strong future for the Treatise series.

We invite you to read the complete text of a letter regarding the Treatise, scheduled to print in the December issue of GSA Today, from GSA President Judith Totman Parrish, Paleontological Institute Director Paul Selden, and Robert Goldstein, Chair of the Department of Geology at the University of Kansas.
