Dear [ insert name ] I'm an active member of The Geological Society of America. We are currently in the process of developing the technical program for the Society's 119th annual meeting, which will be held in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center, 28-31 October 2007. I think your work could be an important addition and I'd like to encourage you to submit an abstract. To give you some background, GSA is a broad, unifying scientific society with 20,700 members. (Visit www.geosociety.org for more on the Society.) We expect 6000+ geoscientists representing all disciplines to attend the annual meeting. Go to www.geosociety.org/meetings/2007/ to view the technical program and access session descriptions. You can submit your abstract online at gsa.confex.com/gsa/2007AM/. The cost is $30.00 for professionals and $18.00 for students. The deadline is 10 July 2007.
