This new CD-ROM is a compilation of 25 presentations and 25 poster abstracts that were presented at a conference sponsored by the Geological Society of America and 18 partner organizations, held 21–23October 2003 in Englewood, Colorado. The three-day technology transfer conference focused on understanding interactions among major wildland fire, geomorphic and hydrologic processes and vegetation. The conference presentations address what can be done to plan for and mitigate the effects of wildland fire—erosion, debris flow, flooding, and water-quality degradation. Scientists, technical experts, planners, and resource specialists and practitioners from communities, conservation districts, counties, state, and federal agencies will find this information of value. Supplementary information includes the conference schedule, participants, exhibitors, introductory material and references.
