GSA's 125th Anniversary
Celebrating Advances in Geoscience
Our science, our societal impact, and our unique thought processes
A look at how far we have come as a result of scientific and technological advances in the last 50 years and predictions for future advances.
Celebratory plans are already in the works:
- An extraordinary fieldtrip (see sidebar) starting the 2013 year with "Antarctica and the Scotia Arc: Tectonics, Climate and Life".
- Special anniversary review article series in GSA Bulletin — current perspectives on reoccurring controversies and themes in the geosciences.
- Edited book volumes that update past publications exploring science, society, and the fabric of the geosciences. (Contact Pat Bickford for more information.)
- Pardee Keynote sessions at 2013 Annual meeting in Denver — reoccurring controversies and themes over the last 50 years, focusing on current perspectives.
GSA members and friends are encouraged to contribute!
Be a part of GSA history and plan an activity such as:
